Release: 29th OCTOBER 2020

One of the most successful German bands of the 21st Century, Quadro Nuevo has performed more than 3,000 concerts around the world since their formation in 1996.

From the tranquility of Upper Bavaria they’ve traversed the globe multiple times, from New Orleans to Sidney, Mexico City to Istanbul, Beijing to the Balkans.

Their latest album, Mare, adds a new chapter to this vagabond tale, telling the stories from the Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean lightness of being

Music from the sea

A sea full of dreams

Arabesques, Balkan swing, ballads, daredevil improvisations, the melodies of old Europe and the lightness of the sea merge into fabulous songs full of joyous color.

The Mediterranean lightness of being has undoubtedly always been the hallmark of Quadro Nuevo’s music: Italian tangos, French waltzes, mythical Aegean melodies, daring driving songs along a sunlit coastal road, oriental impressions, Brazilian flavours and Neapolitan hits.

“We turn again,” explains saxophonist Mulo Francel, “to the Mediterranean art of music making in MARE, which has remained a central characteristic of our band since our debut album Luna Rossa”

So dig out your sunglasses and listen to 15 musical jewels picked up on the squares and on the shores of the South.
