From Bavaria to the Balkans to Bolivia.
Together, pianist Chris Gall and saxophonist Mulo Francel have turned night into day in Buenos Aires as part of platinum-selling group Quadro Nuevo.

Now – more than 25 year after first meeting in a small Alpine town outside of Munich – these two dazzling figures of the European music scene present their debut duo album together, Mythos.

Altought they’re colleagues from the from the German most selling and gigging world music group Quadro Nuevo, the idea of this album began at the end of a hard climb of Kerkis, the highest mountain on the Greek island of Samos. From there, sparkling under the glistening southern sun, lies the sea of Icarus, enshrined in Greek mythology. And so, the song Ikarus’ Dream and this album, MYTHOS, was born.

Inspired by their globetrotting encounters with people, their cultures, their myths, the duo presents a fascinating cosmos of virtuoso improvisations, passionate melodies and subtle grooves.

1st single out NOW: Yorke’s Guitar (Chris Gall)

A homage to the artist Thom Yorke whose music clearly transmits the true meaning of «hypnotizing». A great inspiration when creating through minimalistic motifs a melancholic but hopeful atmosphere in which we end up emotionally floating away to other ethereal spheres.

CHRIS GALL headed to the US to study on a scholarship from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in, followed by two trio albums on the ACT label and two solo piano records on GLM. He’s consistently and creatively expanded the stylistic boundaries of his playing, inspiring audiences at festivals including JazzBaltic and the legendary Montreux.

MULO FRANCEL has performed more than 4,000 concerts around the globe as the creative whirlwind of Quadro Nuevo, developing his own authentic version of World Music. Credited by Kulturnews magazine as having “the most sensuous saxophone sound in Europe, he’s won numerous prizes, including Best Live Act from ECHO Jazz.
