Anne Efternøler & Lige Børn
Anne Efternøler & Lige Børn”one of the most creative and interesting trumpet players on the Nordic scene to day” (salt peanuts* Magazine).
Trumpet player Anne Efternøler is already a well-known artist on the Scandinavian scene for improvised music. On November 11th, Efternøler will debut as a bandleader with the album entitled “Anne Efternøler & Lige Børn” where she challenges what could appear as an almost impossible quartet line up. Trumpet and three double basses!
Accompanied by the American in-demand bass player Thomas Morgan, the characteristic Danish Anders Christensen and the Danish/Faroese/Icelandic Richard Andersson, Efternøler has made the impossible quartet possible.
With an elegant combination of improvisational freedom and constricted compositional directions the quartet explores concepts such as time, pulse, friction and stagnation, with a constant focus on strong melodies and a distinct artistic expression.
Anne Efternøler is a composer drawn towards the impossible, ”I love how, in art, we can reject all conventions, even the laws of nature and just decide yes this is possible! That is so liberating…”.
