Stay Away and Play

(Sept 24th 2021, GLM Records)

Release: 24th Sept 2021

Known for his work with the tireless world music band Quadro Nuevo, accordionist Andreas Hinterseher has been on the road for over twenty years. From small clubs to full orchestras, life on the road was full of beautiful experiences and restless challenges.. until March of 2020.

All the time in the world embraced

accordion, bandoneon and vibrandone-on, in the studio in Fischbachau. Hinterseher bought an electric bass and brought together a new band, consisting of only one person: himself. Stay Away and Play is an effort to use this crisis to take a big creative step.

Once the path was paved, it was time to find collaborators; musicians all over the world were banished to their own four walls, so Hinterseher opted to join forces in the digital world. The elaborate lineup features friends old and new; Latino singer Mateo Stoneman, hailing from Los Angeles and the expressive, Berlin-based Helena Goldt from Kazakhstan on vocals,  Jorge Chicoy (ex-Arturo Sandoval) on guitar and Buena Vista Social Club-legend Enrique Lazaga on maracas. Finally, Chrisa Lazariotou on vocals and Greek lute and Katie Barlas and Tanja Conrad completed the gang on violin.

The septet used a global standstill to find community and strength in the number one thing that keeps us humans together: the music.
